Discussions With A Master Tailor:Part 1

In the world of custom clothing and fine garments it is rare that an individual can be considered a master tailor. Here at SPICER Exquisite Fashion we relish at the opportunity to share thoughts and ideas with an individual who has as much knowledge and experience as master tailor Dennis Moore. In the world of garment craftsmanship and bespoke tailoring Moore along with a few other master tailors are becoming extinct in this respected field. We have taken just a small glimpse inside the mindset of this master.

In his adolescent years Moore began his tailoring journey in high school as an apprentice under master tailor Phillip Solomon who was his high school tailoring teacher. Solomon also owned his own shop, which at the time was called Solomon’s Distinguished Tailors. As he continued to learn from Solomon and watched his mother sew garments by hand Moore still was not fully sold on the idea of becoming an esteemed master tailor. It took a major event for Moore to realize that this was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. As an apprentice and not quite as skilled as his mentor Moore asked Phillip Solomon to construct his high school prom tuxedo. The tux was a major hit with Moore’s peers and upper echelon faculty at his school and from that point moving forward he fell in love with handmade garments and his career began. Moore soon found out that if you are good at what you do in this field that you could basically write your own paycheck. This is the case because the lack of accessibility when it comes to a master tailor was and still is few and far in between.
Moore exclaims, “it’s a new day and age and people are not willing to take the time to pick up such an in depth craft in which you have to sit under a master tailor for years to become well endowed in this practice.” Unfortunately, from what we have learned the knowledge you receive in school is not as inclusive as what you will gain from sitting under a master tailor. As we continue our journey to success, we will continue to utilize the much appreciated and much needed skill set of master tailor Dennis Moore.

The Individual

An individual per research is a single human being, as distinguished from a group or a distinct, indivisible entity. Individuality within the human race has become in some ways a scarce trait amongst our population. Many want to be like their favorite artist, their favorite actor or their favorite athlete. While in the midst of trying so hard to be something or someone they were never destined to be they lose all sense of oneself and therefore have no personal identity. It is indeed a great idea to have a mentor or utilize positive traits from someone that you may look up to but you must remain true to self and create your own individual legacy. I love fashion and everything about the aesthetic of creating your own individual look and style. Embrace who you are as an individual and be the best you on all accords, you may surprise yourself when you really find yourself.

The Urban Gentleman Part 2

One thing in life that will never stay constant is fashion. It may repeat itself in some instances but it will always have its differences throughout the years to come. With that being said don't be afraid to move and transform with the evolution of fashion by making it your on. Gradual, peaceful, progressive change or development is not a bad thing when done correctly. Set the trend don't be the one talking about the trendsetter.

The Urban Gentleman Part 1

Fashion, a strong expression of oneself, or take it even deeper, an interpretation of an individuals mindset, attitude and aspirations. The psycographics behind how an individual chooses to express themselves through fashion are more prevalent than some may think. With that being said make a statement when you solve your fashion conundrums. Your body is a canvas, your apparel is your paintbrush and you are a walking piece of art that communicates vibrantly who you are. So, whether you are a lover of fashion or a total skeptic of why people love fashion one thing is for certain the garments that you decide to wear could be making the right or wrong statement about you. Choose wisely.
