Personal Style Chronicles #4: Pinstripes Part 2

From style conscious Brits who were said to have given the pinstripe suit its roots to attendees at local American speakeasies in the 1920s and 30s, the pinstripe suit has seen many changes in its look and fit. The good news is the new pinstripe suit is much more contemporary, giving it a modern day appeal in the ever evolving fashion world.

Fit is key and I often mention this. This suit is many years old just like the one in my last blog post so the fit was not how I preferred before I went to my tailor who is also a garment maker. Within my business I deal with custom garments so I have become a fan of a certain fit. This isn't exactly a custom fit but my tailor does a damn good job at getting you close to a perfect fit.

The history of the tobacco pipe dates back thousands of years ago and many pages and multiple volumes can be written about pipes but it is indeed a great companion to contemplation and men. I am what you would call a newby to pipe smoking but I definitely enjoy the history behind it and learning the technique of smoking the pipe. This could indeed turn into a not so frequent hobby of mine.

Personal Style Chronicles #3: Pinstripes Part 1

Pinstripe suits have been a fashionable piece since the turn of the 20th century. In the early stages of the arise of pinstripe suits they were worn by fashion forward Brits but they became more popular as men became interested with expressing their style and sophistication through the types of suits they wore.

This suit is actually about 8 years old and it was too big in my opinion, consider the fact that I prefer custom garments, with that being said a great tailor is necessary and my tailor is one of the best garment makers in the industry. Fit is always important!
